MBDA is the result of the merging of Matra BAe Dynamics, EADS-Aerospatiale Matra Missiles and the missile activity of Alenia Marconi Systems.

The merger has enabled a progression within the European defence industry from several national companies to a single integrated company with a global presence.  MBDA is in a leading position, capable of mastering key technologies, developing large joint European programmes, offering its customers an unequalled range of products and services and uniting Europe’s major collaborative programmes.

With more than 50 years of experience, the constituent companies of MBDA have an outstanding pedigree.  Their combined forces bring together unequalled strength in research, design, development, products and customer support across all battle scenarios – on land, at sea and in the air.

MBDA presents the optimum missile systems solution built upon a combination of experience and skills, resources and manpower.

MBDA will be showcasing its Ground Based Air Defence capabilities with the EMADS (Enhanced Modular Air Defence Solutions) system utilising the Common Anti-air Modular Missile (CAMM) family of missiles.

Supported by its three shareholders, BAE SYSTEMS, Airbus Group and Leonardo, MBDA has a large industrial and technological base in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

CAMM

COMMON ANTI-AIR MODULAR MISSILE TO DELIVER SHORAD CAPABILITY

CAMM is the next generation air defence missile designed for land, sea and air environments. Incorporating advanced technologies to provide complete protection against all known and projected air targets. CAMM is currently in full scale production for the UK MOD and will replace Rapier to become the core of the land based air defence capability for the British Army.

  • Autonomous missile enabling high rate of fire against multiple targets simultaneously from a single launcher

  • Vertical launch enabling 360º coverage

  • Broad target set including high speed, manoeuvring, low signature targets in high level countermeasure environments

CAMM-ER

EMADS UTILISING CAMM-ER TO DELIVER MRAD CAPABILITY

CAMM-ER, the Common Anti-air Modular Missile – Extended Range, is from the CAMM family of the latest generation air defence missiles, designed for Land and Maritime environments.

Incorporating advanced technologies, CAMM-ER provides complete protection against all known and projected air targets at low level and high altitude.

  • All-weather active RF seeker

  • Two-way data link between missile and launcher

  • High rate of fire against multiple simultaneous targets

  • Wide spectrum of air target threat set

  • Soft Vertical Launch enabling 360° coverage in all launch sectors

  • Launch technology allows minimum launch signature and high performance and concealment
